Until the boundary changes that came in to effect on January 1st, Corfe Mullen was the only part of East Dorset District in the Mid Dorset and North Poole constituency.

Corfe Mullen elects four members to East Dorset District Council, from three wards, one each from Corfe Mullen North and Corfe Mullen South and two members from Corfe Mullen Central. At the moment all four are Liberal Democrats.
