Merley and Bearwood covers the communities of that name along with Canford Magna and Ashington, all are situated to the north of Poole and border Wimborne Minster and Bournemouth.

Merley and Bearwood elects three members of Poole Borough Council. All three councillors are currently Liberal Democrats. The Conservative spokesperson for the area, meanwhile, is Karen Rampton.

Merley Conservatives have campaigned for a better bus service to all parts of Merley. They have also worked with the Police, Youth Services, and the council to bring about a reduction in anti-social behaviour in the Bearwood Area. The trend is down however they recognise there is some way to go. Football training and the regular 'Youth Bus' have helped as well as the Voluntary Bearwood Youth project based at St Barnabas Church.

The Conservative Team have supported local residents and community leaders in the ongoing task of re-furbishing the Community Centre at Bearwood. They recently saw the opening of the community cafe in the front lounge.

Following the banning of Poole residents from Milhams Tip, Merley & Bearwood Conservatives campaigned for help for Bearwood because of the distance to the Nuffield Site. The introduction of the 'bring site' at St Barnabas Church Car Park, for garden waste, has been a huge help and warmly welcomed by residents who do not yet have green Bins. They continue to be concerned about Fly Tipping which continues to be a problem in some parts of the Ward, particularly Bearwood.

Both of the areas' schools are doing well. Bearwood primary and nursery school has benefited from the Extended Schools Fund and has a breakfast and after-school club.
