The town of Wimborne Minster (along with the neighbouring community of Colehill) transfers from the constituency of North Dorset to Mid Dorset and North Poole at the next election. Wimborne's MP is currently Bob Walter, who will continue to be responsible for parliamentary issues until the next General Election. Nick is working closely with Bob as he continues to serve the people of Wimborne Minster and Colehill. Wimborne elects three members to East Dorset District Council; all three seats are currently held by Liberal Democrats.
The Conservatives hold the County Council seat, having gained the division from the Lib Dems in 2009. The County Councillor for Wimborne is Robin Cook, pictured below.
Wimborne Conservatives ran a successful campaign to reinstate a temporart post office to the town after the main one was burnt down last year. Raising a petition of almost 3,000 signatures, Robin and Nick ensured the return of post office facilities two months earlier than initially planned.
Our campaign against development of the green belt to the north of the town gained the backing of David Cameron when he visited the town at the end of 2008.
David also visited the town's Citizens Advice Bureau, congratulating the workers there on the excellent service they provide to the town.
Local Conservatives are also working hard to reinstate parking for residents visiting the recycling site in Brook Road.
